Getting Here by Bus
The centre is easy to get to by bus, get any bus heading to Wigan Bus Station, which is situated on Market Street directly opposite The Galleries.

Getting Here by Train
There are two train stations situated in Wigan, Wigan Wallgate Station which is for all local train services and Wigan North Western which is for all main line services. Both are situated within walking distance of the centre.

Car Park Facilities
Wigan is easy to get to if travelling by car, once you are in the centre of Wigan, there are sign posts which will direct you to one of the multi-storey car parks and on street car parking.

Parking charges at the Grand Arcade are as follows:

  •  Up to half an hour 50p
  •  Up to 1 hour £1.00
  •  Up to 6 hours £2.50
  •  Up to 24 hours £4.50

Car Park Opening Times:

Galleries multi-storey car park (625 spaces)
Situated in the heart of Wigan Town Centre the Galleries multi-storey car park has 625 spaces including dedicated disabled and parent and baby spaces. Access to the Galleries Shopping Centre is via lifts which serve all floors and this is a pay on exit car park.

Open from 7am to 7pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday
7am to 8pm on Thursday and Friday, Sunday 11am to 5pm.

Water Street multi-storey car park (520 spaces)
Situated within a short walk of the Town Centre the Water Street car park is ideal for users of Gala Bingo. This is a pay on exit car park with dedicated disabled and parent and baby spaces. Lift access is available to levels 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11.

Open from 6.30am to 10pm Monday to Saturday inclusive
12 noon to 10pm on Sundays

Mesnes Terrace multi-storey car park (325 spaces)
Situated close to the Galleries Shopping Centre the car park has dedicated disabled and parent and baby spaces. Open from 7am to 7pm lifts serve all floors on this pay on exit car park. The Shopmobility office is situated on the ground floor and is served by 16 dedicated disabled parking bays.

Chapel Lane car park (320 spaces) - Saturdays and Sundays Only
Situated near to the Magistrates Courts and within easy walking distance of the Town Centre this is a pay and display surface car park which has been recently refurbished. Public parking Saturdays and Sundays only. Parking is free on Sundays.

Harrogate Street car park (107 spaces)
Situated near to the Swimming Pool this surface pay and display car park is popular with those visiting the Town Hall and other Local Authority buildings.

Mona Street car park (81 spaces)
Situated near to the Bus Station this surface pay and display car park is ideal for those wishing to gain access to Wigan College and the Town Centre.

Civic Centre car park (48 spaces) - Saturdays Only
Situated directly behind the Civic Centre this Saturday only surface pay and display car park is within a few minutes walk of the Town Centre and Town Hall

Sovereign Road car park (36 spaces) & Pepper Mill Lane car park (30 spaces)
Recently refurbished, situated near to the Magistrates Court this is a pay and display car park Monday to Friday only with a daily charge of £1.30, free on Saturdays.

Wigan Car Park Charges (except Sovereign Road and Pepper Mill Lane daily charge £1.30)

  • Up to 3 hours = £1.30
  • 3 to 4 hours = £2.70
  • 4 to 6 hours = £4.30
  • 6 + hours = £6.50

Pay and display operate between 8am and 6pm unless otherwise stated.

Wigan On-Street pay and display
Situated around the Town Centre Wigan has 324 pay and display spaces with tariffs ranging from 1 to 3 hours.

  • Charges: ½ hour = 60p
  • 1 hour = 80p
  • 2 hours = £1.30
  • 3 hours = £2.20

Motorcycle Stands
Two pay and display motorcycle stands are located on New Market Street.
