Job's a Good 'Un
Friday 7th September 2007
Wigan Jobs Fair is back.
Following the hugely successful Jobs Fair in January, Wigan
Council is pleased to announce another event on Thursday
September 20 at Wigan Investment Centre on Waterside Drive.
The event, which is in partnership with Job Centre Plus
will run from noon until 4 pm.
A number of employers looking to recruit will be there
including: BHS, River Island, TK Maxx, Next, Hurleys, Argos,
Wigan Council, I Care, The Army, Galloways Bakeries and
Bents Garden Centre.
As well as employers, there will also be expert staff on
hand with information about training programmes to help
you improve your skills.
Councillor John O'Neill, Cabinet Champion for Regeneration
and Deputy Leader of Wigan Council says: "These events
give jobseekers the opportunity to talk directly to employers.
Application forms for the posts will be available to collect
and some interviews will even be conducted on the day.
"Everyone is welcome. Whether you are registered as
unemployed, looking to return to work or looking for a career
change, there will be a large selection of full-time, part
time and seasonal job opportunities available to meet your
needs.
"Through the Jobs Fair we held in January, nearly
600 people found their ideal job. This is proof that these
type of events really work, so if you are looking for work,
please come along and see the types of jobs on offer."
