Christmas Lights, Carol Singing and Fire Walking?
It's all going on in Wigan Town Centre over the next few
weeks with an events extravaganza in the run up to Christmas.
On Wednesday 5 November, for a whopping four days, the ever
popular continental market returns. Stalls selling unusual
and beautiful gifts and exotic foods will be situated in Market
Place and down Standishgate. A perfect chance to get in a
few early Christmas presents for family and friends.
The big switch on event will take place on Thursday 20 November,
with a Rock FM road show, entertainment and celebrity guests
including Wigan Warriors and Wigan Athletic stars and Big
Brother’s Luke Marsden. The event promises to be fun
for all the family and is not to be missed.
As the cold weather sweeps in, Saturday 22 November will
give you an opportunity to at least warm your feet, with the
chance to take part in a fire walk at Market Place. Professionals
will be on hand to take you through your paces, helping you
to focus your mind in time for attempting a real leap of faith.
On Sunday 23 November, Father Christmas will be taking a
break from his hectic schedule to take part in a Christmas
parade. He is even bringing a couple of his reindeer with
him. The parade begins at 1 p.m. from Mesnes Park and will
end at Market Place. It will be a perfect delight for the
little ones!
According to recent surveys, 70% of women are wearing the
wrong sized bra. To help rectify these shocking statistics,
La Senza, the Grand Arcade lingerie retailer will be parking
up their Bra Bus on Standishgate Friday 28 November to Sunday
30 November. Specialists from La Senza will be offering free
bra measuring and advice.
As December draws in, it is time to limber up those singing
muscles! On Saturday 13 December there will be carol singing
at Market Place and the following week (Saturday 20 December)
there will be a big Christmas sing-a-long. Watch this space
for further information!
There is definitely something for everyone in Wigan Town
Centre!
